From up on Poppy Hill".
I was consciously delaying the viewing of which has proven to be one of my favorite animated films. This delay was made after the criticisms that were in my head. Ursula K. Le Guin wanted first to the father and son (mesmerized by My Neighbor Totoro) as director of the adaptation of his literary work, and after seeing the result was unhappy. In addition, we note that Hayao Miyazaki and his son, which from now will try with more respect cinematic terms were less than pout during production of the film, in fact, Hayao was against that if a son was responsible for the direction, however, the producer, seeing Goro skills for project management and their ability and skill for drawing decided to give the baton to his son. With all this and some notes down in different sites of film, the fact is he was reticent and did not find the time to plant me in Earthsea.
For those who follow more or less intermittent blog, remember that there are many accolades that have led to the master Miyazaki, Nausicaa to Ponyo from passing Totoro. Now it is fair to point the finger at Goro Miyazaki as a worthy squire and I suppose later succeeded his father and his understanding of animation. and I have my sights on the film he directed in 2011 and that the friend Javier Ramirez has outlined in his blog, the film is titled "From up on Puppy Hill".
The film Tales from Earthsea to me closely related to Nausicaa, especially from the point of view of the environment and the amount of environmental messages (without political bias) that flood the tape from deep dialogue scenes and beautiful landscapes. It has a soundtrack that fits perfectly, like a hummingbird sucking nectar.
I can not remember the Gaia hypothesis as it did with Nausicaa, since at all times referred to the planet like a large living being is involved. This raises the issue of balance and how the man breaks it, but I consider this anthropocentrism pure and simple.
The characters are wonderful and their internal struggles are reflected in each other and over the territory. The fantasy is with the rest of the jewels Ghibli, with its dark and gloomy side well developed, in fact, this issue made it the first film distributed by Disney with the PG-13 rating.
Maybe Ursula K. Le Guin is not satisfied with the result and perhaps for the production of this film Miyazaki family spend a mild crisis. I have to say I do not care, as they say take away what I danced, I enjoyed a great time.
A greeting.
