From up on Poppy Hill".

I was consciously delaying the viewing of which has proven to be one of my favorite animated films. This delay was made after the criticisms that were in my head. Ursula K. Le Guin wanted first to the father and son (mesmerized by My Neighbor Totoro) as director of the adaptation of his literary work, and after seeing the result was unhappy. In addition, we note that Hayao Miyazaki and his son, which from now will try with more respect cinematic terms were less than pout during production of the film, in fact, Hayao was against that if a son was responsible for the direction, however, the producer, seeing Goro skills for project management and their ability and skill for drawing decided to give the baton to his son. With all this and some notes down in different sites of film, the fact is he was reticent and did not find the time to plant me in Earthsea.

For those who follow more or less intermittent blog, remember that there are many accolades that have led to the master Miyazaki, Nausicaa to Ponyo from passing Totoro. Now it is fair to point the finger at Goro Miyazaki as a worthy squire and I suppose later succeeded his father and his understanding of animation. and I have my sights on the film he directed in 2011 and that the friend Javier Ramirez has outlined in his blog, the film is titled "From up on Puppy Hill".

The film Tales from Earthsea to me closely related to Nausicaa, especially from the point of view of the environment and the amount of environmental messages (without political bias) that flood the tape from deep dialogue scenes and beautiful landscapes. It has a soundtrack that fits perfectly, like a hummingbird sucking nectar.
I can not remember the Gaia hypothesis as it did with Nausicaa, since at all times referred to the planet like a large living being is involved. This raises the issue of balance and how the man breaks it, but I consider this anthropocentrism pure and simple.

The characters are wonderful and their internal struggles are reflected in each other and over the territory. The fantasy is with the rest of the jewels Ghibli, with its dark and gloomy side well developed, in fact, this issue made it the first film distributed by Disney with the PG-13 rating.

Maybe Ursula K. Le Guin is not satisfied with the result and perhaps for the production of this film Miyazaki family spend a mild crisis. I have to say I do not care, as they say take away what I danced, I enjoyed a great time.

A greeting.

"Arrietty y el mundo de los diminutos_Karigurashi no Arrietty - Yukashita no kobito-tachi (The Borrowers) (The Secret World of Arrietty) (2010)" Minimalismo cinematográfico

British author Mary Norton's story imagined beings fundamentally microhumanos hidden between the walls and ceilings of our homes, which, in a furtive manner, performing their daily tasks unnoticed at will. This story has caught on in the first half of the twentieth century and have since been several times that has led to the big screen and small. I mostly remember the American cartoon series called "The Littles" and translated in Spain as "Tiny" three seasons and 29 episodes, and also remember the soda movie "The Borrowers", 1997.

This time he has played the famous Studio Ghibli make the raiders in his umpteenth masterpiece of animation, albeit with an ending that in my view detract from quality to the entire film. Until we reach that outcome unimaginative and surplus of logic have a beautifully shot film, with exquisite attention to detail, with a strong plot and the suspense necessary to blend with the visual aesthetics and provide the viewer dose of great cinema, leaving what part of the genre.

As always Ghibli films transcend the purely child and allows the viewing thoughtful adult, who will surely enjoy it more. As I say the only but is the outcome but you'll have to see it to say, I hope so.

A greeting.

Hayao Miyazaki.

Un saludo.

CHECKING THE GAIA HYPOTHESIS.

If we compare the current works of Miyazaki with this, the truth is that we can find that over time Miyazaki has earned in narrative but in no way detracts from his early films visually with the latest. Miyazaki films leads to the manga released in 1982 and not finished until 1994. The anime movie is actually based on the manga unfinished, and hence may be counted Nausicaa with some blur and sometimes ellipses remain somewhat strained. I have given a nine because this movie should be understood in its historical context. Not that in the eighties did not Anglo excellent anime or animation, but Miyazaki's work much beyond them not only for its technical quality but also struck by the message it conveys.

Issues such as militarism and nihilism are treated in a second plane in Nausicaa to give more importance to the famous Lovelock's Gaia hypothesis in which the Earth regulates itself like a macro-organism in question. In fact I am quite agree with this hypothesis to the point that I think today there is an exaggerated anthropocentrism not let us see that activities are in principle against the environment are what it would hamper our future existence. If someday our activities just to our environment the human race will become extinct and many agencies may now live with us but nature will continue to work, adapting to new airborne concentrations and balancing a system in which the man disappears from the equation. Is what "our" planet has been doing for hundreds of millions of years and what most certainly will continue until the sun becomes a supernova and clear the Earth of the Solar System.

Supposedly we are watching at all times and future post-apocalyptic Earth, past 1,000 years from the excessive industrialization turned it into a wasteland in which the toxic jungle is extending at home and where the Gorgons (Ohms in the manga) behave like sheriffs of these jungles teeming with fungi and spores, and Miyazaki Eden becomes a real diversity of forms and species rather fantastic.

Nausicaä is the real hero of the film, in its Montanubes rise (in the style of Kinto Cloud Son Goku). Its behavior Godall Jane style, very naturalistic and fascinated with the wildlife of the jungle their ideologies toxic give an aura of goodness that almost any character reaches the exception of Lord Yupa, an incredible swordsman and admirer of Nausicaä (Sandra on tape).

I declare myself a true fan of Miyazaki and Nausicaä exudes the essence of his best work. A greeting.

La frase: ---
The quote: Nausicaä:  Every one of us relies on water from the wells, because mankind has polluted all the lakes and rivers. but do you know why the well water is pure? It's because the trees of the wastelands purify it! And you plan to burn the trees down? You must not burn down the toxic jungle! You should have left the giant warrior beneath the earth!... Asbel, tell them how the jungle evolved and how the insects are gaurding it so we won't pollute the earth again. Asbel please!

"Ponyo en el acantilado _ Gake no Ue no Ponyo (Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea)(2008)" Only Miyazaki

ONLY MIYAZAKI

Miyazaki imagine in his study, looking out the window while sipping tea, her mind in turmoil and shape in his childhood fantasies drawings masterfully, colorful and traditional fragrances, rummaging in the trunk of memories stories and stories that concern you, make you dream, and why not, with which they can earn some money, let's be frank. If anything characterizes Miyazaki is the regularity. And many would like to have it, mostly because their regularity is excellent films, each more original and wonderful, one after the other. I've seen most of his films and there is no time during the viewing of the same in which I find transported to my childhood, mesmerized by pleasant memories that appear with each image, with the music. Recall that initially participated in Miyazaki anime the likes of Mark, Heidi and Maya Bee among others, knows how to touch a chord.

Miyazaki's stories can be considered more or less children, understood that children is quite subjective when you consider two things: first that children are unique and second to address the issues that are both universal and contemporary (eg environmental degradation .) However, Ponyo is true that you may have a more content aimed at kids as the actors are from the nursery. Why not be ruled out for a more older man, quite the opposite. Ponyo on many occasions to remember the Little Mermaid, in fact says that this is a free version of this story, and so free! Anyway, the issues we find are the degradation of the oceans, the value of childhood and old age, the true love that in my point of view Miyazaki tries to transmit reflected in the love for nature.

Miyazaki wonder pulling back the sleeve of new characters, giving life to inanimate elements around us, criticizing our way of life while he praises in its most pure and uncorrupted. Ponyo has details that should be reviewed in subsequent viewings to appreciate all the work of the author, such as the full range of Devonian fishes, who raises and that the protagonists of the story surprisingly know a lot. Now I just have to wait for the next birth imaginative Japanese cartoonist.

A greeting.

THE MAGIC SCHOOL GHIBLI.

There are few drawbacks to put on this remarkable film, perhaps the story, though froma good general idea, eventually lost in no way more or less virtuous. We must not thinkfor a moment, as appears Ghibli gem must be seen, because each new story is moreamazing and maddening at times, each character is extremely attached to a groundand clinging to the hope of a better world where love everything flooded. Miyazaki is agenius in animation, but also a fantasy genius, excelling with each new release andabsorbing, I believe, the souls of the characters he creates for every occasion, printingthe soul and spirit of those who are young and die young and masterfully alluding toissues of profound depth and current.

Greetings to everyone.
