"Will & Grace (1998-2006)" Voluntad y Gracia

En el año 1998, la NBC apostó, cabe decir que sin mucha convicción de éxito, en una serie sobre gays y heteros de dudosas aspiraciones morales y carentes de seriedad, es decir, unos excéntricos de mucho cuidado. Esta sitcom se convirtió en seguida en uno de los shows televisivos más seguidos,  capaz de hacer sombra a la mismísima Friends: hay para hacerse cruces. En fin, aquellos de vosotros que la hayáis visto alguna vez habréis notado que la serie no es nada novedosa, puesto que trata sobre situaciones "reales" (un poco sacadas de contexto en la mayoría de ocasiones) entre personas "cotidianas" (poco creíbles es quedarse algo corto). Para mi, su éxito radica precisamente en que intenta tratar temas triviales de forma hiperbólica y disparatada, aludiendo de manera casi continua a la vida de los famosos estadounidenses, convertidos (nefasta decisión por cierto) en españoles por los dobladores.

Que una mujer se enamore de un homosexual ocurre hasta en las mejores familias, que acaben viviendo juntos como si fueran pareja es posible pero poco probable. Que esto ocurra en Nueva York, en el Upper West Side de Manhattan para más señas, lo hace algo más creíble, y que esta singular pareja acabe asociándose con otra pareja formada por otro gay moldeado por la santísima Cher y una ricachona drogadicta y alcohólica que campa a sus anchas por la ciudad vuelve a ser sospechosamente poco plausible. Voluntad y gracia, que es la traducción de Will & Grace, además de dos nombres propios, resumen las características de los protagonistas, la voluntad de encontrar pareja y la gracia por la que la suerte sonríe al dúo (y al cuarteto cuando pertenece) con excesiva regularidad.

Dicho esto, hay que valorar positivamente la cara entretenida de la serie que es lo que a mi me ha permitido llegar hasta el último capítulo (187 en total) de sus ocho temporadas. A este entretenimiento y divertimiento sobre locazas y mujeres desesperadas, hay que sumar también el apartado de los cameos. Los cameos, sobre todo a partir de la tercera temporada, se convierten en un elemento más del show y en una herramienta para captar más adeptos. Las apariciones de famosos no cesan y a medida que se avanza estrellas de mayor envergadura van apareciendo ya sea para poner la cara o para quedarse unos cuantos episodios. Por poner algunos ejemplos entre muchos: Sidney Pollack, Cher, Britney Spears, Patrick Dempsey, Madonna, Harry Connick Jr, Woody Harrelson, John Cleese, Geena Davis, Miguel Ferrer, Matt Damon, Andy García, Elton John, Jennifer Lopez, Janet Jackson, Ellen DeGeneres, Minnie Driver, Macaulay Culkin, Alec Baldwin, Jack Black, James Earl Jones, Rosie O'Donnell, Demi Moore, Sharon Stone, Luke Perry, Jeff Goldblum, Kevin Bacon, Michael Douglas, Glenn Close, Gene Wilder, Tom Skerritt, etc.

A los que os guste la comedia que recurre a la parodia constante no os defraudará Will & Grace, al resto seguramente acabe aburriéndole y pareciendo muy monótona y carente de originalidad. Recomiendo a los que se lo planteen que la vean en versión original, porque la versión doblada está plagada de chistes sin sentido y frases sobre famosos españoles que no pegan ni con cola con los contextos pensados para los Estados Unidos. Con todo siempre nos quedarán las interpretaciones del cuarteto Will & Grace y Karen & Jack (de estos dos últimos se rumoreaba con la posibilidad de realizar un spin-off), magníficos en sus roles y cómicos impagables.

TO GAY OR NOT TO GAY

In 1998, NBC bet it can be said without much conviction that success in a series on gays and straights of dubious moral aspirations and lack of seriousness, that is, about eccentric carefully. In short, those of you that you have ever seen have noticed that the series is nothing new, since it deals with "real" situation (a bit out of context in most cases) among people "everyday" (little credible is to stay a little short). For me, its success lies precisely in trying to address issues so trivial hyperbolic and absurd, almost continuously referring to the lives of famous Americans, converts (disastrous decision by the way) in Spanish for doublers.

That a woman fall in love with a homosexual occurs even in the best families, who end up living together as if a couple is possible but unlikely. Whether this happens in New York on the Upper West Side of Manhattan to be exact, it makes it more credible, and that this unique pair became associated with another gay couple formed by other molding the Blessed Cher and drug addict and alcoholic rich guyrampant in the city again becomes suspiciously implausible. Will and grace, which is the translation of Will & Grace, and two names, summarizes the characteristics of the protagonists, will find romance and grace that luck smiles at the duo (and the quartet when it belongs) too regularly.

That said, there has to be welcomed entertaining face in the series which is what has allowed me to reach the last chapter (187 in total) of his eight seasons. In this entertaining and fun on locazas and desperate women, we must add also the section of the cameos. The cameos, especially from the third season, become an element of the show and a tool to attract more followers. The appearances of famous and not stop as you go larger stars are appearing either to put the face or to stay a few episodes. To give some examples among many: Sydney Pollack, Cher, Britney Spears, Patrick Dempsey, Madonna, Harry Connick Jr, Woody Harrelson, John Cleese, Geena Davis, Miguel Ferrer, Matt Damon, Andy Garcia, Elton John, Jennifer Lopez, Janet Jackson Ellen DeGeneres, Minnie Driver, Macaulay Culkin, Alec Baldwin, Jack Black, James Earl Jones, Rosie O'Donnell, Demi Moore, Sharon Stone, Luke Perry, Jeff Goldblum, Kevin Bacon, Michael Douglas, Glenn Close, Gene Wilder, Tom Skerritt, etc.

At you like comedy that relies on constant parody will not disappoint Will & Grace, the rest will probably end up bored and looking very dull and lacking originality. I recommend it to those who raise them to see the original version, because the dubbed version is full of jokes and meaningless phrases about Spanish celebrities that do not stick or glue to the contexts designed for the United States.But always be the quartet's interpretations Will & Grace and Karen & Jack (the latter two are rumored to the possibility of a spin-off), magnificent in their roles and priceless comic.

"Dos Hombres y Medio_Two and a Half Men (2003)" SE PROMISCUO COMO PUEDAS 2 1/2

    

En toda sociedad existe aquel individuo tocado por una barita mágica del éxito, este no es el caso de Charlie Harper. Basta con ver la primera temporada para caer en la cuenta de que tras el personaje de machista ligón de prostitutas y mujeres de dudable inteligencia se esconde un fracasado ser humano al que el destino le depara un inquietante futuro junto a su hermano Alan, un afeminado y tacaño individuo de costumbres cuando menos peculiares. Si a todo esto le añadimos un sobrino rematadamente inepto y glotón tenemos dos hombres y medio.

Esta serie creada por Chuck Lorre más allá de la simple y burda comedia, esconde infinidad de críticas a la sociedad norteamericana, a su machismo y consumismo desmesurado, a las oportunidades desperdiciadas y más profundamente, críticas a las relaciones interpersonales y familiares. Muchos telespectadores se quedarán en la mera carcajada y el espectáculo de chicas semidesnudas desfilando episodio tras episodio, pero si se busca un poco más se encuentra toda esa sátira, ironía y paradoja que es la vida de Charlie Harper.

Mención a parte merece el actor protagonista de la serie Charlie Sheen. Es sin lugar a dudas perfecto para este papel pues tan sólo debe actuar como actúa en su vida real. Cabe preguntarse si realmente ya era así antes de comenzar la serie o fue in crecendo con la misma su actitud que traspasa la pequeña pantalla. Sea como fuera lo cierto es que este experto actor que empezó su carrera a muy temprana a edad (casi por obligación viniendo de donde viene) resuelve de manera perfecta su papel y consigue transmitir tanto la comicidad como el dramatismo que se requiere.

Dos Hombres y Medio es la serie más vista de los Estados Unidos (alrededor de 15 millones de espectadores), y por ello no es raro encontrarse con multitud de personajes invitados de renombre. De hecho    no hay actor o actriz que se precie que no quiera salir en la misma aunque sólo sea haciendo un cameo. Charlie Sheen es el actor mejor pagado de la televisión, y sus compañeros los intérpretes secundarios más conocidos del medio y aún así no hemos visto que gracias a la serie se haya catapultado la carrera cinematográfica de ninguno de ellos. Jon Cryer quizás sea el que tiene el personaje más difícil de interpretar y el que más agradecido es de cara a los premios (ya acumula tres emmies), un actor polivalente que ya coincidió con Charlie Sheen en Hot Shots en el papel de bisojo.

Recomiendo a aquellos que buscan una serie sin prejuicios y muy cómica que se tiren a la piscina con Dos Hombres y Medio. Abstenerse feministas y antiamericanos.

In every society there is one person touched by a magic wand for success, this is not the case of Charlie Harper. Just watch the first season to realize that after the male character Flirt prostitutes and women of doubtful intelligence lies a failed human being that fate gives her a disturbing future with his brother Alan, an effeminateindividual mean at least peculiar customs. If all this we add a hopelessly inept and greedy nephew have two and half men. 

This series created by Chuck Lorre beyond the simple and crude comedy, hides numerous critiques of American society, its machismo, and excessive consumerism, the missed opportunities and deeper, critical to interpersonal relationships and family. Many viewers will stay on the laughter and the sheer spectacle of scantily clad girls parading episode after episode, but if you look a little is all that satire, irony and paradox that is the life of Charlie Harper. 

Lest we forget, the actor who starred Charlie Sheen. It is certainly perfect for this role as only to act as acting in real life. One wonders if it was really well before the series or was in crescendo with the same attitude that goes beyond the small screen.Whatever the case it is certain that this expert actor who began his career at an early age (almost by obligation coming from where comes) solves perfectly his role and manages to convey both the humor and the drama that is required. 

Two and a Half Men is the most-watched series in the United States (about 15 million viewers), and therefore it is not uncommon to find many renowned guest characters.In fact there is no actor or actress who boasts not want to leave in the same if only making a cameo. Charlie Sheen is the highest paid actor on television, and his fellow performers known secondary medium and still have not seen that through the series has catapulted the film career of any of them. Jon Cryer is perhaps the one with the most difficult to interpret and which side is more grateful for the awards (and won three emmie), a versatile actor who already agreed with Charlie Sheen in Hot Shots on the role of cross-eyed. 

I recommend that those looking for a series without prejudice and very funny to throw into the pool with Two and a Half Men. Feminist and anti-American refrain.
